The Society of Will Writers
The Society of Will Writers is a non-profit making self-regulatory organisation which seeks to protect the public and serve the interests of those men and women who are active professionals in our field.
The Society of Will Writers was founded in 1994 by former Director General, Brian McMillan, and 4 other business owners. The Society has since grown to become not only the largest but also the leading self-regulatory body governing Will Writers and Estate Planners alike.
The Society has over 1,700 members across the UK, Central Europe, and further afield in places such as Asia and Africa. The Society acts as a self-regulatory body by vetting practitioners through stringent membership requirements, proficiency standards, and ongoing training.
The College of Will Writing
The Society of Will Writers set up The College of Will Writing in 1995 to be able to offer training to those entering the profession, as well being able to support those through ongoing training.
The primary aims of the College are to secure proper public recognition of the professional status of Will Writing practitioners and to raise and maintain the standards of knowledge, understanding, and competence within the profession.
The College regards these aims as mutually inclusive and recognises the diversity of entrants into the profession, the wide range of vocational needs, and the nature and degree of support that is required by the profession and its many stakeholders.
WillPack & LawConnect
WillPack, founded by Brian McMillan, have been providing Wills, legal documents, and estate planning services to the mortgage and financial services sector for over 30 years, making them one of the oldest names in the Will Writing profession.
LawConnect is our back office, allowing us to remain free to look after our clients, whilst they take care of the legal work. CONTENTIOUS WILLS
We provide expert advice, Probate Services, and Court Representation for families struggling with disputes arising from a Contentious Will. Our Probate & Professional Executorship partners are IWC Probate Services, a specialist probate company. They're regulated by the Society of Will Writers and Estate Planning Practitioners, and registered with the Heir Hunters Association and Companies House.
Their specialist experts are highly qualified probate practitioners with law degree qualifications in Probate & Estate Administration. They provide Probate Administration Services at low cost, with fixed fees that are agreed in advance, so there are no surprises.
